The Queen’s School of Engineering is seeking to appoint either a Senior Teaching Associate or Teaching Fellow in Water and Environmental Management to be based within our Department of Civil Engineering. The level of appointment will depend on skills and experience.
The role will primarily focus on postgraduate teaching related to Water and Environmental Management, though may also involve contributions to units and activities related to the Department’s other programmes. Specifically, you will be required to work closely with the Programme Director to contribute to the design, coordination, delivery and on-going development of the MSc in Water & Environmental Management.
Teaching will include involvement in all modules of the programme, which currently covers: quantitative research methods and research skills; fundamental processes that govern water movement through the environment; environmental management, policy and regulation; integrated catchment management; environmental systems and ecosystems services; and water resources engineering. We are seeking an individual with experience of teaching in the higher education sector and of working in the Water and/or Environmental Management sector and who has in-depth subject knowledge of one or more of the following: quantitative research methods, environmental processes and environmental management. A first degree and postgraduate degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or relevant related discipline are required.
