Senior Design Engineer’s – Waste & Water

We are currently going through a period of significant growth within our Capital Delivery & Commercial business and we now have a number of Senior Design Engineer opportunities to join our Non Infra side of the business to work within our Waste & Clean Water Design Teams who have a clear directive; to Share Ideas & Think Innovatively. We are recruiting across a number of locations within the Severn Trent region at this level (both East & West Midlands) – including office locations such as Derby, Longbridge and our soon to be designed new office in the heart of the west midlands to name a few.
The type of Waste projects which you could be working on include; Chemical Dousing, Thermal Hydrolysis, Sludge and many more. On the Water side of the business you could find yourself working on Nitrate Treatment, Chemical Dousing and Borhole projects – you will also get the opportunity to work on a variety of both.
Your expertise might lie outside of the Water Industry?, you may come from a background in Power, Energy, another Utilities sector?, if so, great – we would still love to hear from you – your transferable skills will be of real value to us bringing with you fresh ideas and perspective. You will have the opportunity to work on a large variety of multi-million pound Waste/Water industry projects over the next 5 years– some of the best the industry has to offer – it truly is a unique time to join us. You will work closely with internal partners and your team of Design Engineers & Technicians and oversee the successful delivery of our engineering projects. The role will be very varied and will offer you the autonomy to be creative and use the latest technology in the field.
Having a wide breadth of experience within an engineering design capacity (any sector) is essential to succeed in these roles. Ideally you will be a Chartered Engineer or working towards membership of an appropriate professional engineering body.
You will be a very personable individual who is able to motivate and inspire others around them and play a supportive role. As a Senior Design Engineer, your key skills and competencies will include: • Water sector experience or similar (Petrochem / Pharmaceutical / Food / Aerospace / Power) • Proven experience of preparing feasibility studies and option evaluation Utilities Industry • Experience of undertaking the role of Principle Designer • Extensive experience of providing designs and specifications for commercial negotiations • Proven innovation of design to assist with the development of innovative solutions in the delivery of waste water projects. • Evidence of coaching skills and building capability within the Design team • Demonstrated experience of the considerations given to risk management in construction and ops design. • Extensive Experience of influencing a disparate set of stakeholders to deliver design objectives.
