Support the development of the single largest flood risk management programme in the country, reducing flood risk to London and the Thames Estuary for the next 10 years, and have a hand in transforming tomorrow.
As an Assistant Project Manager on the TEAM 2100 programme, you will have the chance to support the Project Manager to help drive solution identification and design development on the programme. Working with other members of our team, you’ll be part of our Fixed and Active Assets Team delivering the Environment Agency’s 10-year programme to refurbish and replace tidal flood defences in London and the Thames estuary. TEAM2100 will carry out the first part of the Environment Agency’s Thames Estuary 2100 Plan, which sets out how to manage tidal flood risk in the Thames estuary throughout the 21st century. During your time with us, you will also have the opportunity to work supporting the delivery of projects including the overall coordination and production of multi-disciplinary appraisals and designs, and the delivery of the identified solutions on site, undertaking appraisals of flood risk management solutions and reports to secure funding and preparing and supporting tender / outline / detailed design solutions in accordance with programme and budget constraints. The minimum qualifications for this position are:
Masters degree in Engineering field
Working towards achieving chartered status with the relevant Institution (ICE, IMECHE or CIWEM)
Good written and oral communication skills
Good knowledge of relevant computer programmes
Have a comprehensive Technical appraisal and design knowledge
Either currently cleared to SC level or able to meet the requirements for SC clearance
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Demonstrable knowledge of working and delivering to deadline and evidence of problem resolution in the process
Demonstrable knowledge of producing accurate technical outputs
Proven ability in the design of water retaining or control gate structures
